Manchester based rock band - Everything Everything have dropped their new album ‘Mountainhead’ which delivers memorable experimental sounds.

From the opener ‘Wild Guess’, the album creatively tackles apocalyptic imagery and questions socio-political topics.

The 14-track album metaphorically takes on themes of capitalism, and arguably embodies the extremes society could reach if it merely focuses on financial economy - rather than humanity.

Previously released single - ‘Cold Reactor’ was an outstanding release, a synth build and catchy beat, paired with emotional lyricism portraying sad realities.

The imagery is prevalent in many of the tracks and the band have described the record as having a ‘Mountainhead’ concept. Like with ‘Mad Stone’ referencing “I’m a mountainhead too”, the tracks illustrate an alternative society, where lower societal ranks are endlessly working to keep the higher ranks high.

Again with single ‘End of the Contender’ - it demonstrates “It's all about the money now” and both within the lyricism and the video it depicts those with money are doing little work whilst those around are labouring away for little gain.

Melancholic track -  ‘R U Happy?’, is a meaningful listen and it really questions whether you can say you're truly happy and enforces the message of people being animals - and therefore ‘you are not alone’.

Further imagery is prevalent in ‘City Song’, as it implies that we as individuals are more than just ‘Mountainheads’ in the workings of society.

After their previous release ‘Raw Data Feel’ which crafted lyrics using AI - the band are definitely not afraid to cross musical boundaries and truly experiment with different concepts and sounds.

Notably, ‘Mountainhead’ was produced in Stockport with lyrics and recordings carried out at a quick pace.

Even alongside the tracks, the accompanying music videos symbolically convey images, including the likes of losing yourself in conforming to societal norms and social structures.

Whether it's for the bass in ‘Canary’, the groove in ‘Don’t Ask Me To Beg’ and melodies in ‘Your Money, My Summer’ - Everything Everything have yet again delivered a successful album.

Everything Everything are embarking on their UK tour this month, with support from band - Divorce. Remaining tickets and further information can be found here.
