Californian trio Haim took to the Victoria Warehouse stage for a second sold out show in Manchester.
From start to finish the crowd were encapsulated by Este, Danielle and Alana Haim’s musical ability and anecdotes.

The audience was greeted by Alana Haim as a “bunch of babes” and the strong sisterhood sentiment was throughly felt all night long.
Featuring performances from their latest album ‘Women in Music Part III’, including hits Gasoline, Summer Girl and Now I’m In It. The band played a collection of songs from across their discography, with Danielle as lead vocalist, Este on bass guitar and Alana on percussion, with moments of saxophone from Henry Solomon.
A poignant moment of the evening was the sisters collectively standing centre stage and singing heartfelt ballads Hallelujah and Leaning On You. It formed a united feeling of togetherness both on stage as much as within the crowd. The sisters referred to themselves as the audiences sisters for life which was reciprocated with large chants of “we need to come together” from song I’ve Been Down.

The evening embodied a powerful message of the importance of women in the music industry. Through reciting stories highlighting just some of the treatment the band has faced in their years of growing fame, some of which are depicted in song Man From The Magazine. Significantly, Este Haim spoke about the pressing issue of reproductive rights of women both in their hometown America, and the world as a whole, which was well received by the audience of differing demographics.
Crowd favourites included songs Forever and My Song 5 from their debut album Days Are Gone which received enthusiastic reactions of the crowd singing back to them.
The One More Haim Tour was opened by one woman powerhouse Georgia who closed her set with a superb Kate Bush cover of Running Up That Hill.
Haim recently celebrated 15 years since their first ever show and this night was certainly a testament to their immense musical talent which will continue to be a sort after band to see due to their highly impressive and charismatic performances.
The One More Haim UK tour sees further dates in Nottingham, Cardiff and London. For further information on tour visit http://haimtheband.com/live/ .
