Everything Everything Get to Heaven at Manchester Aviva Studios

Everything Everything took to a sold out Aviva Studios Warehouse stage in Manchester, in celebration of their album ‘Get to Heaven’ turning 10 this year.
The anniversary tour saw the album played in full to its entirety, a great chance for fans old and new to celebrate and hear their third album.
Front man, and lead vocalist Jonathan Higgs was very talkative to the crowd, and the enjoyment from all members of the band was really evident to see.
Higgs, said: “Thank you for always being there, Manchester!”
Get to heaven, the titular track of the touring album, was certainly a stand out live, and sounded as good as the record - with, of course, the catchy whistling also performed live.
Playing hits such as ‘Walm Healer’, ‘Spring / Sun / Winter / Dread’, and ‘Blast Doors’, the crowd were well encapsulated from their entrance to stage, until the end of their second encore.
The album itself has themes of political tensions and risings, linked towards global events in 2014, which are juxtaposed with the upbeat, chirpy musicality of the 17 tracks.
The crowd were energised and bouncing when hit ‘Distant Past’ was performed - a particular fan favourite live.
The staging was simplistically effective, with the lighting really complimenting the album's theming, and imagery of hands.
The evening also saw frontman Higgs promise a surprise, as the band did a further encore of track ‘MY KZ, UR BF’, which was preceded by them welcoming two fans on stage for their proposal.
Manchester were also treated to a tour debut of track ‘Cold Reactor’ off their latest album ‘Mountainhead’.
The Warehouse venue at Aviva studios was spacious with a high ceiling, alongside great sound, and housed a 5000 capacity.
Seven albums down, it is still withheld that Everything Everything is definitely a band well worth watching live.
