The Mary Wallopers return with new album and a tour

Dundalk group - The Mary Wallopers, are back with long awaited music, as a new single ‘Crowns of England’ dropped this week.
This comes as the first single off new album ‘Paddywhackery’, which is available September 18.
In classic Wallopers style, the tune is catchy, witty, and articulately riddled with many home truths.
The track is a memorable account of moving away from home to a larger city in any account, not just that of moving to London, and the feelings and longing for home comforts that come with the change.
It is especially poignant of the division within England, with flags losing all purpose and being used as a scapegoat for hateful, discriminatory notions.
There is no sugar-coating from Charles Hendy - vocalist, banjo and whistle player, and rightfully so.
He sings:
“I said my names Charles Hendy,
I come from Dundalk town,
And when I see your George’s cross,
I want to pull it down”
Whilst addressing the colonialism and monarchy of England, the track simultaneously makes comical jabs at other cultural differences, especially the lack of craic in pub atmospheres!
They sing:
“The lads over here don’t sing or dance,
they just watch football.”
This comes as the third album from the band, after the 2023 release - ‘Irish Rock ‘n’ Roll’.
Totaling 11 tracks on ‘Paddywhackery’, the album will feature the single ‘The Juice’ which was released in Summer 2025.
If the new single ‘Crowns of England’ is anything to go off, the new album should be a belter, laced with tongue and cheek lyricism.
It will be their biggest tour to date, stopping at many cities across the UK and Ireland.
